LASEA is one of the most established providers of manufacturing machines with ultra-short pulsed lasers in the market. In particular, LASEA has high expertise in integrating femtosecond lasers combined with homemade beam delivery technology providing to LASEA an outstanding positioning in everything related to laser machines with ultra-short pulses. It is noteworthy that this experience not only has to do with the development of machines in general but is mainly focused on ultra-short pulse lasers and that it is precisely this expertise that will be used in the MULTIPOINT project. On the other hand, as a major player in contact with market needs and new applications in the field of ultra-short pulse laser machines, LASEA will be the exploitation manager in the MULTIPOINT project.
In the MULTIPOINT project, LASEA will have various technical challenges as the selection of the number of beams, design the optical path of multibeam inside scanner head, managing the beam on a large surface, design, development and upscaling of the laser machine module for micro-drilling large panels.
MULTIPOINT results will benefit every sector needing high production rates. Photovoltaic, electronics, RFID (radio frequency identification) and automotive are sectors that demand minimization of operation time (cycle process time) and optimization and high production process keeping intact the quality and the accuracy obtained with an ultra-short pulsed laser. But the jewellery and medical sectors also are both sectors looking for the most efficient solutions to offer new possibilities to their customers/patients. LASEA is currently very active in these markets and thanks to the project will be able to provide better solutions to these sectors in terms of production time (multibeam process, a decrease of the cycle time) and quality of the final product due to the inline control.
