Created in 2001, Amplitude Laser Group manufactures and commercializes ultrafast lasers for scientific, medical and industrial applications. Leading the international market since its beginning, Amplitude offers a large range of products: diode-pumped ultrafast solid-state lasers, ultra-high energy Ti: Sapphire ultrafast lasers and a full line of high energy solid-state laser products. Amplitude is also known for always working on improving the ultrafast technology. We have lately been able to commercialize the most powerful industrial femtosecond laser named Tangor 300 (with 300W of average power). The MULTIPOINT project falls therefore perfectly in line with our ambitions and we are very happy to be a part of this adventure.
In the MULTIPOINT project, Amplitude is tasked with developing a laser source with more than 1 kW average power and high pulse energies, and as such faces several technical challenges, in particular the optical design, the component level, and the thermal management.
The optical design must ensure the desired performances as defined by the future users of the laser. Moreover, we must develop, carefully specify, and qualify laser components that enable us to achieve such high laser performances. And finally, the thermal management must be considered that concerns specific components as well as the entire laser system. The laser source developments in Amplitude are on track and will result in substantial improvements in the footprint of high-power femtosecond lasers, making the mechanical integration easier for the customers.
